EAW

EAW has has recently updated one of their most successful product lines. The popular JF series of two way high performance loudspeakers has been updated and replaced with the new JFX series of high performance loudspeakers.

The JFX Series is a family of radical, new 2-way systems designed from the ground up to maximize performance and utility at a cost-effective price. Every aspect of the series has undergone EAW's legendary design engineering regimen to produce the most useful, most powerful and best performing compact 2-way systems ever made.

JFX systems work equally well in permanent installations and portable applications. Balance-optimized flytracks and hang points as well as pole mount cups and points configured to accept Omnimount or similar devices provide a variety of mounting options. And the revolutionary asymmetrical trapezoid design allows them to work as main systems or stage monitors.

All drivers are newly created to meet some of the most stringent requirements ever demanded of transducers. Compression drivers feature neodymium magnets to decrease weight and increase efficiency. JFX high frequency horns feature our latest advances in tooling and flare design. And of course the enclosures feature our traditional rugged, exterior grade Baltic birch construction for years of faithful service.

All of this comes at an impressively cost-effective price. How? The answer is simple: efficiency. For instance, the drivers themselves utilize many proprietary EAW technologies and therefore meet the exact specifications of the loudspeaker enclosure they go in. This simplifies crossovers design, and now the crossovers require fewer components and are easier to build. This allows EAW to offer improvement in sensitivity, output capability, lowered weight, and a reduction is price from the original JF series.

The line currently consists of seven models. Two additional models should be coming in early 2003.

The JFX88 is a completely new offering. It utilizes an 8 in LF cone driver and a 1 in exit/1.4 in voice coil HF compression driver mounted on a Wave Guide Plate. The JFX100 replaces the JF100e, it has a 10-in LF cone driver and a 1 in exit/1.75 in voice coil HF compression driver with neodymium magnet mounted on a Wave Guide Plate. The JFX200 replaces the JF200e and features switchable full range/bi-amplified powering, a 12-in LF cone driver and a 1.4 in exit/3 in voice coil HF compression driver with neodymium magnet mounted on a Wave Guide Plate. The JFX260 and JFX290 replace the JF260z and the JF290z. They feature switchable full range/bi-amplified powering, 12-in LF cone drivers and 1.4 in exit/3 in voice coil HF compression drivers with neodymium magnets mounted on constant directivity horns. The largest loudspeakers in the new JFX series are the JFX560 and JFX590. They replace the JF560z and the JF590z. The JFX560 and the JFX590 feature switchable full range/bi-amplified powering, 15-in LF cone drivers, and 1.4 in exit/3 in voice coil HF compression drivers with neodymium magnets mounted on constant directivity horns.

All models feature a variety of mounting options including a pole mount cups, multiple fly tracks and mounting points configured to accept an Omnimount-type brackets. The smaller JFX loudspeakers also have the ability to be mounted in a horizontal fashion using U-brackets.
