Mackie
Mackie recently introduced additional
models in the HR (High Resolution studio monitor) Series. It is now
a complete family.
All
models are totally professional, with individual amplifiers for each
driver, superb dividing and protection networks, and XLR, TRS, & RCA
inputs for integration into any monitoring environment, including home
theater. They are all THX pm3 rated.
The individual models:
HR824
-- The original. This monitor changed what people expect from a studio
monitor. Incredible quality and sound, for a price much less than its
competition. It is still true today, years after its introduction, that
you must spend at least twice as much to get a monitor similarly accurate.
Many other manufacturers have tried to make something to compete --
but nothing really does. As usual, the bottom feeders simply try to
fool you with an imitation. No real studio uses a clone; they know that
their work depends on what they hear.
The finest professional high frequency
device coupled with an excellent 8.75" LF driver, allied with a
6"x12" rear passive radiator, driven by two channels of effortless
FR amplification, produces the flattest and most accurate response of
any small monitor. Don't take our word for it, read the reviews, look
who's using it, but most importantly, use your ears. They don't lie.

HR624
-- The same concept, but smaller. A 6.7" LF driver, the same HF driver
as the 824, a smaller rear passive radiator, and slightly smaller amplifiers,
gives the same unflinching accuracy as the 824, but with a bit less
bass and output. The smaller LF cone gives excellent transient response,
and the smaller size makes it fit almost anywhere.

HR626
-- The newest model in the series. A larger version of the 624, with
dual 6.7" woofers. The D'Appolito design putting the HF driver in-between
the two LF drivers gives tremendous midrange clarity and definition.
Two woofers have the transient character of the 624, with bass output
similar to the 824. It can also be used horizontally for center channel
applications.

HRS120
-- One amazing subwoofer. A 12" LF driver driven by 400 watts of power,
allied with a 12" passive radiator, gives more bass output than
an "18", but with far less distortion and "sloppiness". As
in all of Mackie's monitors, and their SR speakers, the LF amplifier
is "servo-locked" to the LF driver, producing extremely tight
and accurate bass. A myriad of features makes this the perfect sub,
including a footswitch jack that mutes the sub AND allows the HP feed
to become full range. This allows the studio engineer to hear the main
or near field speakers full range, then switch the sub in as necessary.
The adjustable internal crossover allows matching with any studio monitor.

HRS150 -- If you need even more bass output than the HRS120, this is
it. A 15" LF with two passive 12" radiators, and 950 watts of power.
Maximum bass performance. All the same features as the HRS120.
